With a 60th birthday to celebrate, bonus Air Miles to be redeemed and our first Club Mahindra resort to sample, no more reasons were required to set off on a much-needed holiday. We chose Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu as our destination.

In spite of the choc-a-bloc bookings at the resort during the season, we were very lucky to get a few days of stay there. Hill Country gave us a wonderful opportunity to really enjoy the beautiful countryside of Kodi. Ensconced in the gorgeous hills, the resort was huge, with undulating lawns and well-laid gardens. Our room, complete with a kitchenette, was very comfortable. The microwave oven was a great help as we were carrying a lot of packaged food, which could be easily cooked here. In the evenings, we enjoyed the delicious spread offered in the resort’s restaurant.

We also made full use of the resort’s Ayurvedic spa and indulged in some rejuventing massages, while my husband, Lalit had his foot well-taken care of.
Our holiday included the day of Diwali. A huge bonfire was lit on the occasion and all the guests at the resort came together to enjoy the many fun activities and games organised by the very experienced and enthusiastic staff. The entire resort was lit up and looked very festive.
