On Wanderlust

I am a retired IAF pilot, and have also worked with Air India for 25 years. I have had the honour of flying eminent personalities, including Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, President Zakir Hussain, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi, as well as King Hussain of Jordan and many American and European leaders. Being close to such important people and taking them around, I have often experienced superior hospitality and security in various countries.

I experienced such fine hospitality and service again recently when I visited two of Club Mahindra’s resorts with my wife. I have recently turned 75 years old, and took the membership of the vacation chain. I was asked the reason for having taken a membership so late in life, and I replied that I would have become a member much earlier, had I known about it then.
I have paid off the bulk of my membership charges so that I can make optimum use of it, as soon as possible.

Travelling with Club Mahindra often helps me in my pet passion — photography. I take pictures of tourist attractions, cultural and traditional motifs and local people. During my trip to Ashtamudi, I had taken a few pictures (seen above) including one of three youngsters at Munroe Island — the picture captures the innocence of these children, who have never left their village, and their simplicity and carefree outlook.
