Grand Slamming

Few things attract a sports lover’s attention as much as two racquet brandishing players trying to hit a green ball to each other. Lawn tennis dates back to the 19th century, as a variation of the medieval game of real tennis. Real tennis developed in 12th century France and gained in popularity all over Europe. Around the mid-1800s, modern lawn tennis was born in England. Today, tennis has taken its place among the most popular individual sports in the world.

Shot put

There are some basic shots in tennis, which a player modifies as per the game and his opponent.

The Serve:
The serve indicates the starting of a point. Considered to be the most graceful of tennis shots, it is also difficult to master. An unreturned serve is called an Ace.
The Forehand:
This may be a basic shot, but is among the most powerful too.
The Backhand:
This is played against the usual motion of the body. A smart backhand move can change the course of a point.

Shots such as the lob, volley, half volley and the smash are modifications of basic tennis shots.
