    Mangroves

This route is about 263 Km and should take a little over 5 hours. These directions guide you from Bandra S.V. Road, Mumbai to Club Mahindra, Mahabaleshwar.

Head south on S.V. Road and you will reach a major intersection where you will see a bridge (in the east-west direction) crossing over the road. Turn left before you pass under that bridge. Follow the road and soon it will curve left. DO NOT ascend the flyover. Turn right at the first signal that lets you pass under that flyover and go straight. You will pass a bridge that connects Bandra to Sion and will be able to see mangroves on your left. At the next junction turn left and follow the road. Left again at the next junction (since the straight road is usually closed) and follow the road as it curves right and passes Mahim Nature Park. Turn right at the T junction you will reach. Turn right onto LBS Road which soon turns left onto Station Road. You’ll pass Sion station on your left and you’ll reach another junction where you’ll need to turn left again. Follow this road for about 2 Km. After you pass a roundabout in the middle of the road you’ll ascend a bridge on the left which curves and descends at Chembur. Stay on this road for about 2.5 Km and take the second exit at the roundabout.

Expressway with Fuel and Food Stops

Follow this for about 7 Km and you will see signs indicating you are on the Mumbai – Pune Expressway. Stay on the Expressway and you’ll pass a few petrol pumps where you can fill up or stop for refreshments and a loo break. You will also pass the popular hill-stations of Khandala and Lonavala. About 94 Km later keep right at the fork towards the Mumbai – Pune bypass. DO NOT enter Pune city. Once you take the right fork stay on this route for about 34 Km. You will have exited the expressway and will be travelling on NH 4. Continue to follow NH 4 for about 57 Km on the Pune – Bangalore Highway.

You will have to turn right and then right again to double back for a short distance and then take the first left onto the Wai-Panchgani which is also the Wai-Surur Pune Road.
