Sight Seeing

1. Shimla

The former capital of the British Raj, Shimla’s attractions are many. A scenic town with much on offer, some of the must see places include The Ridge, Christ Church, the Jakhu Temple, Summer Hill, Himachal State Museum and the Library. It is truly worth your time.

2. Forest Sanctuary

A part of the Shimla Reserve Forest Sanctuary, Mashobra offers a fulfilling trekking experience. An array of flora and fauna greet you on your way to its many peaks. Its gorgeous landscapes can only be described as rewarding after the trek. You might even spot the shy musk deer – the state animal of Himachal Pradesh. It is a sight to behold.

3. Jakhoo Hill

At 2,455 metres, Jakhoo Hill is a vantage point for some of the most magnificent views that Shimla has to offer. It is the town's highest peak and a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman crowns its summit.

4. St. Michael's Cathedral

An edifice in stone, St Michael’s has a cruciform design and fi­ne stained glass décor. Located just off the Mall, below the District Courts, the cathedral is a place to revel in.

5. State Museum

The State Museum stands testament to Himachal Pradesh’s rich and well-deserved heritage. It contains a beautiful collection of this vast legacy. Its exhibits range from archaeological artefacts and carvings to exquisite paintings and sculptures. A must visit.

6. The Glen

At 1,830 metres, the Glen is an idyllic place for picnics. A densely forested ravine, with a gently flowing stream, makes it the perfect sport for a relaxing and rejuvenating time.

7. Prospect Hill and Kamna Devi Temple

At a height of 2,125 metres, one can’t help but marvel at the gorgeous panorama that is the city and its surroundings. To top it all off, it is even crowned by a temple dedicated to goddess Kamna Devi. Definitely a place to visit.

8. Mashobra

A picturesque suburb of Shimla, Mashobra lies nestled within deep woods. One must make the trek from here down to Sidpur, a charming dell sheltered by ancient deodars. The trip is definitely worth it.

9. Kufri

Kufri sits at a height of 2,501 metres. Its views and ski slopes give people much to talk about. A walk up to the Mahasu peak is something few miss. You will enjoy your time here.

10. Chail

Chail is the former summer capital of the Patiala state. It is now home to a luxury hotel run by Himachal tourism. It is an appealing journey.

11. Fagu

Apple orchards and forests frame Fagu like a beautiful picture. The view and the surroundings afford many a visitor an ideal picnic spot.
