  • A surprise holiday to Mashobra by Kritika

Sitting in the balcony with a cup of coffee I said, “Dad, I need a holiday!” He immediately answered, “Go and pack your bags then.” I was taken aback as my parents had planned a surprise holiday without giving me the slightest hint. We were heading to Mashobra (Shimla). Like every holiday this time also the excitement was sky high and the fact that we were going to the mountains added to the already bubbling enthusiasm. I feel there is a certain connection between me and mountains and every time I visit a hill station this belief of mine gets stronger.

  • Five things to do in Shimla in winter when it doesnt snow By Anuradha Shankar

“Amma, will there be snow?” That was the first question I heard from my 9 year old son, when I told him that we were going to Shimla for the winter vacation. I couldn’t honestly answer him in the affirmative, so I told him that we couldn’t be sure, but we would certainly try to go somewhere there was snow. That, despite what you may think, did not end the discussion.
