    Breakfast

    Bangalore to Hosur is a 1 hour drive. 41 Kms from Bangalore, it can be the ideal place for a stopover for breakfast at Krishnagiri. You can choose from local options like ARS Vasavi Cafe, Aiswariya Garden or even Adyar Ananda Bhavan which is on NH7, attached to a BP petrol bunk.

    Lunch

    The stretch from Krishnagiri to Salem can even be done in 2.5 hours. Though you can safely set aside 3 hours. Salem would be the ideal stopover for Lunch. A tip is to eat light because post that you must be ready for a long winding ghat section – about 20 hairpin bends.

    Ghat

    From Salem to Yercaud, the first 15-20 Kms is plain road, the last stretch of around 10 Kms is the ghat section. The hairpin bends are much easier (than Ooty) and since there is not much traffic, driving on the ghat is not a big deal. The drive is good, not strenuous and the view is worth the drive.
