Visit the historic Haldighati 

Located about 40 km from the Udaipur city, city of lakes, Haldighati is a historic site and holds an important place in the history of Rajasthan. It is a mountain pass in the Aravalli range and gets its name from the Turmeric (known as Haldi in the local language) coloured mountain ranges. The narrow mountain played a critical role in defending the honour of the Mewar Dynasty.  

It was the site for the battle between the Rajputs, Raja Man Singh of Amber and Maharana Pratap Singh of Mewar. The bloody took many lives and brought to the fore the gallantry of Maharana Pratap Singh and his loyal horse, Chetak. One of the major highlights of this place is the cenotaph with delicate marble columns, which is dedicated to one of the heroes of the Haldighati battle, Chetak.  

There is also a beautiful museum nearby, that displays a range of items that display the glorious culture of the Rajput and it will take you back in time through its relics and artefacts. It is best to take a guided tour of the museum to get intricate details of the Rajput kings, their valour and more.  

Take a ride on the Mansapurna Karni Ropeway 

Built in 2008, the Mansapurna Karni Ropeways connect Udaipur and Machhala Hill. Since it started, the 387-feet long ropeway has become the most preferred way of commuting by the locals to reach Karni Mata Temple, located on the hill top.  

Even if you are not interested in visiting the temple, you must still take the ride to enjoy the magnificent view of the Aravalli mountains, Fateh Sagar Lake, Pichola Lake and the city Palace. When you are in Udaipur, make sure to put this activity in things to do Udaipur list.

Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola 

The oldest and the largest lake in Udaipur, Lake Pichola is a manmade lake known for its unmatched beauty. Located in the heart of the city, it is a popular tourist attraction. The most famous Rajasthani dish is the Laal Maas, a delicacy made from goat meat, it is a must-have dish for all non-vegetarian lovers.
