You can visit this place throughout the year, however, the best time to visit Gurez Valley is between April and September. The weather during this time is soothing and pleasant; the average temperature in April is about 15-20 degrees Celsius, which makes it an ideal condition to explore the place, clicking pictures and indulging in adventure activities.  

Things to do in Gurez Valley 

Throughout the year many festivals and events take place in and around the valley. So, depending on what time of the year you are visiting this place, you would have plenty of things to do that would keep you entertained.  

If you are visiting the valley during July or August, you can witness the Gurez Festival. It is a three-day event during which you can see dance performances, people singing folk songs and there are also many adventure events conducted.  

Also, you can always indulge in some photography and click stunning pictures of the landscape around. If you are looking for something, you can camp at the banks of the Kishanganga River and see the magnificent sunrise and set. How to reach Gurez Valley? 

The closest airport to Gurez Valley is the Srinagar Airport, which is about 140 kms away. From the Airport, you can take a private cab to reach your destination. If you are travelling by train, you can get off at Srinagar, which is well connected from most major cities in India, and then take a bus or cab to Gurez Valley.  

There is no direct bus service from Srinagar to Gurez Valley. But you can take a bus to Bandipora first and then change buses to Dawar and from here you can easily reach your destination.
