Last month we spent a few idyllic days at the scenic Cherai beach resort in Ernakulam, Kerala. I loved the old world charm of the resort, the surrounding lush greenery makes the traditional architecture even more special; The resort lies nestled between the picture-perfect backwaters and the magnificent Arabian ocean. As usual, the resort had organised a cultural programme and we were fortunate to see an Ottam thullal performance, which is a traditional recite-and-dance art form of Kerala. The restaurant serves some delectable local cuisine; the seafood especially was amazing. And last but not least, the friendly staff who always made us feel at home.
