We love to travel in the month of February, mostly because our anniversary falls on this month, the weather is awesome, the new year has just begun, and there are lot of offers everywhere. This time our destiny was Yercaud, a much-awaited one, being our 10th year anniversary.

We started our journey at around 7 am since it's just 4-5 hours’ drive from Bangalore. The drive was pleasant, the roads are pretty good, and the weather was also in our favor. We reached the Club Mahindra Yercaud by noon. To our surprise, the weather was freezing with intermittent drizzles. We had not expected rain, we had only packed cotton clothes since we were travelling to Tamil Nadu.

A special buffet lunch with a good discount welcomed us. The lunch was as usual awesome. We rested for a while, in the evening we decided to take a stroll of the lake. The resort is at a walkable distance from the lake. The lake is huge and usually crowded, you need to wait in queues if you opt for boating. There are some stalls in the lake area where they offer instant photos, the display pics were impressive, we decided to click a few.

When we left the lake it started pouring, we soon took shelter in the Kaapi Store, which is right in front of the lake. They offer a variety of beverages and snacks. The shop is very attractive, it is clean and affordable. It is crowded, you must be lucky to get a seat. While it was still raining, we somehow sneaked into a nearby shop where they were selling a few factory outlets. We managed to grab a few woolen wears to get acclimated. The price was almost less than half the MRP, but yes a thorough check should be made.

Once the rain reduced, we walked towards the resort. I had read about the resort’s wooden pizza. They don’t take many orders, it's a first come first serve basis. The pizza had a unique taste since it was baked in firewood. One must try if you visit there. The next thing I had read about the resort cuisine was Dosa. I could not wait for the next morning, and it was truly a delight. Different varieties of dosas are prepared and each is extremely tasty. The pudi dosa was the best I felt.

After breakfast we spent some time clicking pics in the resort, we then visited the Shri Chakra Lalitha Tripurasundari temple which is around 30 minutes drive from the resort. The temple is very pleasant and calm, if you are energy sensitive you can feel the high energy of the temple. I could hardly find any people in the temple, enjoyed meditating for a while it was a different experience. After visiting the temple, we headed straight back to the resort and spent the rest of the evening playing indoor games.

The next day morning we headed towards Bangalore carrying all the wonderful memories of Yercaud..
