Chugging through dense forests, the amazing Ooty toy train will take you on a memorable Ooty-Coonoor Round Trip, up steep mountain passes, through tunnels and over quaint bridges. Whether you’re eight or eighty, this is one of the most fun things to do in Ooty when you stay at any of the Club Mahindra resorts in Ooty.

The remarkable Ooty-Coonoor Round Trip by toy train is packed with breath-taking views of dense shola forests, forested hills, gushing waterfalls, meandering rivers and mist-clad mountains. The train navigates through major bridges en route from Ooty to Coonoor, covering a distance of 19 km in an hour and a half. All through the journey, the sound of the chugging locomotive is punctuated by the calls of a myriad birds, such as the Nilgiri Blue Robin and the Grey-Headed Canary-Flycatcher.

Once you arrive at your destination, Coonoor, there are many places to see such as Dolphin’s Nose and Lamb’s Rock which give you a sweeping view of the adjacent valley, as well as a great point to watch the sunset over the Nilgiris. There’s also Sims Park, a picturesque nature park and botanical garden developed in 1874 and tea gardens such as the Highfields Tea Estate and Coonoor Tea Estate, where you can see how your cup of tea makes its journey from a tiny bloom to a verdant shrub.

With Club Mahindra, you can witness many such magnificent experiences across 100+ resorts in India and abroad! To know more about the Coonoor Round Trip experience, read the Club Mahindra member reviews.
