Festival in Mashobra
Perhaps the most popular festival in Mashobra, Mahasu Fair is celebrated in the month of May every year. Lord Shiva is invoked during the festivities and the two-day Jatara that hosts a large number of festivities attracts considerable amount of pilgrims from around the hills. The harvest festival Baisakhi is celebrated with much fervor and enthusiasm in Mashobra. The harvest festival is one of the important festivals of the state of Himachal Pradesh and you will be able to take part in the celebrations if you are visiting in the month of April. To keep the evil spirits at bay and to appease goddess Kali, the Bhunda festival is organized every year with animal sacrifice in attendance to please the deities. It is also celebrated to please Parsuram in some places.
