Poovar is a lovely resort with small independent rooms and good food. One can visit the Kovalam Beach, Trivandram Zoo, do some saree shopping and please do ensure you go on a boat ride thru the Mangrooves. The Golden sand is something you will cherish when you visit before the sunset. Plus the resort is bang on the beach and one can go anytime.

You can split 5 Nights in two resorts I.e. Ashtamudi and Poovar. That seems better instead of 5N in Poovar. Ashtamudi places : Munro island , Jatayu Park , Varkala beach Poovar : 1 day to Kanyakumari, 1 day in Trivandrum temples and last day for boating, shopping and relax at beach side cafe.

Best time to visit Odisha is November to Mid-February. Apart from the usually travelled places like Puri, Konark, Bhubaneswar, I would recommend you to visit Chilika, Bhitarkanika and Satapada....see the mangrove forests and olive ridley turtles where river meets the sea, Mangalajodi Bird Sanctuary and Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary. Many of these places are unexplored, yet amazing. After all, Odisha is India's best kept secret.

If I could live anywhere in the real world, I’d choose Svalbard, Norway—but not just for the adventure, for the kind of life it would offer. Picture this: Waking up in a cozy wooden cabin, the kind where the floors are always warm, and there’s a kettle whistling on the stove. You step outside to a sky painted with the Northern Lights, a daily reminder that some things in life are pure magic. The air is crisp, fresh, and so silent you can hear your own thoughts—finally, a break from the noise of everyday life. Instead of rush-hour traffic, you have sled dogs waiting at your doorstep, excited to take you into town. The community is small but tight-knit—people actually know their neighbors here. There’s no "stranger in the crowd" feeling, just shared cups of coffee, local stories, and a mutual respect for the wild beauty that surrounds you. Of course, life here has its quirks—you check for polar bears before stepping outside (just in case), and you can’t own a cat (to protect the fragile ecosystem). But in return, you get something rare: a simple, meaningful existence where nature sets the pace, and you learn to truly appreciate the small joys of life.
