It was my father who first bought the membership. After he passed away, it was transferred to my mother. My dad was extremely fond of travelling, and we usually went on vacation at least once a year. He thought the membership would be a good investment, and it turned out he was right.

What features of the resorts have most impressed you?

The property itself is the first thing that catches your eye. All Club Mahindra properties are beautifully designed and well-maintained, right down to the smallest detail. The ambience is excellent and it is very comfortable. The onsite staff is polite and helpful. And the warm, welcoming feeling cannot be matched.

It is a wonderful getaway from city life; the resorts are self-sufficient. You do not have to go out for anything – we did go sightseeing and indulged in other activities, but you don’t have to because there's so much within the resort to keep you busy. The resorts are well-equipped, and they have a lot of activities within so you can have a complete vacation without going out.

Do you have any memorable moments from the previous holidays?

My most memorable trip is the one we took to Jaisalmer. It was my dad’s last trip, so that’s one reason why it was memorable. I recall that he was unwell and wanted a getaway. We got all the bookings done with one phone call. It was that simple, and I was very impressed. All I had to do was arrange for transport. Another memorable trip was Manali – that’s one of the best resorts and my father’s favourite. Tell us something about the photography contest held at Club Mahindra that you won

I attended a valuable and informative workshop conducted by maestro photographer, Radhakrishnan Chakyat. The theme of this contest was to weave a story with five pictures. It was challenging to bring emotions to words while presenting the story with photos. To our surprise, we were awarded the 3rd position. The entire journey with Club Mahindra was an overwhelming and heartwarming experience.

Is planning a holiday easier since you have a Club Mahindra membership?

Yes, definitely. It’s a good investment. Earlier we had to plan our stay and activities ourselves. Now everything is consolidated, and we can arrange our visit with just a few clicks or a phone call. Of course, we have to consider availability – sometimes the resort you want may be fully booked – but the staff is helpful with alternative suggestions.

What does your family have to say about Club Mahindra holidays?

My family – now it is just mom and me –really like the overall experience of how things work. What I like best is the convenience of having everything arranged for you. Especially the facilities offered and the way guests are taken care of with all their comforts and needs in mind. It is a very warm and pleasing experience; a real getaway

Any other thoughts you would like to share?

Club Mahindra has a lot of beautiful resorts – more than 50, I think – so if you get a membership, you do not have to worry about vacations for the next 50 years at least. We have been to many of their resorts since my father first got a membership. We love the floating cottages at Ashtamudi in Kerala and the ‘tree house’ villas in Binsar, Uttarakhand. These were unique experiences, and I have fond memories of them.
