Club Mahindra celebrates 25 years of holiday adventures and family fairy-tales.
In honour of this momentous occasion, let’s time travel to the past and look at how far we’ve come.
Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd. was established in 1996 as part of the Leisure and Hospitality sector of the Mahindra Group. Its flagship brand, Club Mahindra, sought to provide quality family holidays to its members, through a unique vacation ownership model. And boy, did it!
In the same year, Club Mahindra opened its first two resorts in the serene hill station of Munnar (Kerala) and the charming town of Varca (Goa), respectively.
By 2011, it was hailed as India’s largest holiday company. One year later, it had won the same title for Asia.
In 2012, Club Mahindra built its new logo – four heart shaped mandalas coming together in reflection of family and friends uniting over travel. The hearts took on the colour palate of nature. Blue – for the sky and sea. Orange – for the sunsets. Green – for the foliage. Yellow – for the sun and sand.
A new logo for a new identity; this was not just a superficial development, but one that changed the very fabric of the company.
In 2015, Club Mahindra acquired Holiday Club, a Finnish brand, with a 98% stake.
Today, the company is regarded as the 7th largest vacation holiday company in the world, outside of the United States.
