In a move aimed at enhancing tourism ties between Japan and India, Japan has officially launched an electronic visa (eVisa) system for Indian tourists allowing a stay of up to 90 days in the island nation.
This initiative, introduced by the Japanese government, is set to streamline the visa application process for Indian citizens wishing to visit the Land of the Rising Sun. Effective immediately, Indian travelers can now apply for their visas online, simplifying what was previously a cumbersome and time-consuming process, and enjoy a stay upto 90 days.
The introduction of eVisas for Indian tourists reflects Japan's commitment to bolstering its tourism industry and fostering closer ties with India, one of the fastest-growing travel markets globally. By digitizing the visa application process, Japan aims to attract a larger influx of Indian visitors, capitalizing on the country's rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and modern attractions.
For Indian travelers planning a trip to Japan, obtaining an eVisa is now more convenient than ever before. Prospective visitors can apply for their visas from the comfort of their homes or offices, eliminating the need to visit Japanese consulates or visa application centers in person. The online application process is designed to be user-friendly and efficient, allowing travelers to complete their visa applications with ease.
To apply for a Japanese eVisa, Indian tourists must fulfill certain requirements and provide the necessary documentation, including a valid passport, a recent passport-sized photograph, a travel itinerary, proof of accommodation in Japan, and evidence of sufficient funds to cover their stay. Additionally, applicants may be required to undergo a biometric data submission process as part of the security measures.
Once the application is submitted online, applicants can track the status of their visa processing through the dedicated portal provided by the Japanese government. Upon approval, travelers will receive their eVisas electronically, which they can print and present upon arrival in Japan.
