New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC,) is all set to introduce a Heritage park near the iconic Red Fort in Delhi.
In a bid to enhance the green cover and provide a serene oasis amidst the bustling streets of Delhi, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has announced plans to establish a new Heritage park near the Red Fort. This initiative aims to not only beautify the cityscape but also provide a recreational space for residents and tourists alike.

The proposed park, strategically located adjacent to the historic Red Fort, promises to add a vibrant touch to Delhi's cultural landscape. It will feature lush greenery, walkways, seating areas, and recreational facilities, offering visitors a tranquil retreat in the heart of the city. The park's design is expected to seamlessly blend modern amenities with the rich historical heritage of the surrounding area.
The park has already accomplished its inaugural phase which highlights the park's role in promoting eco-friendly practices and biodiversity conservation. Trees and foliage have been planted, lighting fixtures have been installed, and pedestrian pathways have been constructed.
The second phase of the project envisages the erection of an approximately 10-foot-high boundary wall lending an authentic charm to the park's periphery. Adding recreational amenities like slides and swings aims to make the park an enjoyable spot for children and family-friendly leisure pursuits.
Moreover, the park is envisioned as a cultural hub, with plans to host various events, exhibitions, and performances, celebrating Delhi's diverse heritage and fostering community engagement. It is expected to become a popular destination for both locals and tourists, attracting visitors from far and wide to experience its unique charm.
The initiative has garnered widespread support from residents and environmentalists, who view it as a significant step towards greening urban spaces and preserving Delhi's historical legacy. Many hope that the park will serve as a model for sustainable development initiatives across the city, inspiring similar projects in other areas.
As the project moves forward, NDMC authorities have assured that community feedback and participation will be integral to its implementation. Further expanding the recreational havens in Delhi, NDMC is concurrently developing a Theme Park in Karol Bagh, slated for inauguration in April 2024.
In anticipation of this exciting addition to Delhi's landscape, residents eagerly await the unveiling of the new green park near the Red Fort, poised to become a cherished landmark in the capital's rich tapestry of heritage and nature.
