Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swarved Mahamandir, the world’s largest meditation centre. This magnificent seven-floor temple can accommodate 20,000 people at a time.

The newly built Swarved Mahamandir, a colossal spiritual landmark has been recently added to Varanasi bringing the city under the global spotlight. Recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this architectural marvel boasts seven floors and can accommodate 20,000 devotees in one go.

The centre is named after the Swarved, a spiritual text authored by Sadguru Shri Sadafal Deoji Maharaj, an eternal yogi and the founder of Vihangam Yoga. According to the temple’s website, Swarved Mahamandir aims to “illuminate humankind with its magnificent spiritual aura and engulf the world in a state of peaceful alertness.”

The temple upholds the teachings of Swarveda, accentuating Brahm Vidya—a body of knowledge empowering spiritual seekers to maintain a state of consummate Zen, characterized by unwavering constancy in peace and happiness.

Covering an expanse of 3, 00,000 square feet, the centre features an astounding design characterizing 125-petal lotus domes, teakwood ceilings and walls made out of pink sandstone. The centre is adorned with 101 fountains and a lush garden of medicinal herbs. In addition to its grandeur verses of the Swarveda have been carved upon the walls of this mega-structure.

Feeling proud of India’s heritage PM Modi stated, “In the era of slavery, the oppressors who made an effort to weaken India first targeted our symbols. After Independence, re-building of these cultural symbols was essential." He further added, “After seven decades of Independence, the wheel of time has turned once again. The country has declared from the Red Fort freedom from a slave mentality and a feeling of pride about its heritage. The work which started from Somnath has now become a campaign. Today, the grandeur of Vishwanath is singing the tales of India's glory," Modi said.

Varanasi, one of the world's oldest incessantly inhabited cities and one of the holiest in Hinduism continues to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of a million visitors. Home to the liveliest and most intriguing Ghats, Varanasi undoubtedly offers a real India experience.
