Moreover, road trips can be planned on the spur of the moment, you do not have to book any tickets. You can just get in your car and drive off. The impulse, unpredictability, and adventure which come along with a road trip make it the preferred choice for an adventure-seeking young generation of today.
Now that we have established how amazing road trips are, we will tell you about some of the famous trails for adventure travellers.
This road trip is an adventure seeker’s first love. The total distance which needs to be covered is 1019km and the travel time is approximately 25 hrs. You travel through a wide range of topography. The scenic beauty you get to see on the way is just awe-inspiring. The gorgeous landscapes of the mighty Himalayas will mesmerise you. The roads are treacherous, so the driver needs to be very careful and keep their focus on the way. The trip can be made in two parts. First travel from Delhi to Manali, then stay in Manali for few days and then proceed towards Leh. Since the journey is long, it is advised to halt in Lahaul Valley.
This trip can be full of adventure if you travel via the Western Ghats. For a smoother journey a lot of travellers go in for Pune Kolhapur Route, but then this route does not offer any adventure. The Chiplun-Ratnagiri route is quite rocky. It gets narrow in patches, but then this is what makes it adventurous. On the way, you can check out the Karnal Bird Sanctuary which is full of migratory birds, especially during winter months.
To get a feel of the desert terrain, this trip is just perfect. You can go off-road for a few kilometres to get the real feel of driving in the desert. A lot of people visit the hugely popular Ranthambore National Park to get a glimpse of the tigers. This wildlife road trip takes you through villages of Lalsot and Balsi where the view of picturesque mustard fields will hypnotise you.
If you want to delve into the Buddhist culture of the North-East along with a hint of adventure, this trip should be on your itinerary. The winding roads of North-East call skills of a trained driver. It is recommended to take this trip between March and October as at other times of the year the road is blocked due to snow. The fog seems to surround you which is exciting for any traveller. There are several small snack joints on the road, so food will not be a problem.
Believe it or not, it is the journey which is more exhilarating than the destination. So, hop into your car, check that you have a full tank of fuel, and off you go on a journey which you’ll remember for the rest of your life. But we are warning you, after your first road trip, you wouldn’t want to travel any other way.
