In the wake of adverse weather conditions prevailing in Delhi, a travel advisory has been issued by Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport for all passengers. Around 30 flights including International have so far delayed.

The New Year’s countdown has begun with travelers all set to hop around places, but the weather seems to disrupt their travel plans. With every passing day, the country, especially the capital city is experiencing intense fog and a drop in temperature.

As per the predictions of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a layer of dense fog continues to engulf parts of the National Capital and several states in the Northern part of the country. The intensified fog has reduced the visibility levels to zero causing significant delays of flights operating to and fro the Delhi airport.

Due to this, the Delhi airport has issued an advisory requesting passengers to contact their concerned airline for flight information before leaving for the airport. While landing and take-offs continue at Delhi airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the Delhi airport's advisory said.

As per the Delhi Airport officials approximately 30 flights, including international ones, have faced delays in both arrivals and departures. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail across Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Amidst such weather conditions, passengers must remain updated about their flights to avoid all kinds of menace at the very beginning of the New Year.
