In a landmark moment for infrastructure development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sudarshan Setu, India's longest cable-stayed bridge, in Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the longest cable-stayed bridge spanning across 2.32 kilometers. Sudarshan Setu connecting Okha mainland with Beyt Dwarka, an island near the Okha port, is of particular importance. Beyt Dwarka is approximately 30 kilometers from Dwarka town, which is famous for the Dwarkadhish Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna.

The grand inauguration ceremony took place with much fanfare, signifying a major milestone in the state's transportation network. The bridge is a marvel of engineering, featuring a striking cable-stayed design that enhances its structural stability and aesthetic appeal. Featuring a footpath adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and of Lord Krishna adds a cultural and spiritual dimension to the bridge.

The project, envisioned to facilitate seamless connectivity and reduce travel time, holds strategic importance. Kevadia, home to the Statue of Unity, the world's tallest statue, has witnessed a surge in tourist footfall. The Sudarshan Setu is poised to play a crucial role in accommodating the increasing number of visitors to this iconic site.

The inauguration ceremony saw PM Modi highlighting the bridge's significance, not only for its infrastructural prowess but also for its role in fostering economic development and tourism in the region. He commended the collaborative efforts of engineers, workers, and stakeholders involved in the successful completion of the Sudarshan Setu.

The cable-stayed bridge incorporates state-of-the-art technology, emphasizing safety measures and sustainability. Its completion is expected to bolster the socio-economic landscape by enhancing accessibility and promoting trade and tourism between the two regions.

Before its construction, pilgrims relied on boat transport to reach the Dwarkadhish Temple. The bridge is viewed as a solution to the villagers' problems and is part of PM Modi's 'Viksit Bharat’ vision for development.

As the longest cable-stayed bridge in India, the Sudarshan Setu stands as a testament to the nation's commitment to advancing infrastructure and connectivity, reflecting the government's vision for a modern and progressive India.
