During the course of the last couple of days, India has been witnessing a rise in coronavirus cases again. In light of this, certain states in India have started reinforcing social distancing and travel guidelines to help flatten the curve once again. While the number of cases are much less than what they were a few months ago and the vaccine has been rolled out, it is not right to assume that the country is virus-free and things can be taken lightly. Most recently, Tamil Nadu announced a fresh list of guidelines.
There are the new travel guidelines issued by Tamil Nadu:
. If the trip is for 72 hours or less than 3 days, no need for home quarantine for business travellers.
. State has made e-pass mandatory for all international and domestic travellers again. But this rule does not apply to those travelling from Puducherry, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
. Those arriving from the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Brazil into Tamil Nadu (as their final destination), must provide their samples for testing at the airport. This rule also applies for passengers who have tested negative for the virus at other Indian airports upon arrival.
. A Self-Declaration Form on the Air Suvidha Portal by passengers from Europe and the Middle Eastbefore their visit to India. Travel history for the last 14 days prior to arrival in the country has to be provided as well.
. Passengers need to get an RT-PCR test done as well as carry their COVID-19 test negative results. The test has to be conducted within the last 72 hours before departure to India.
It is imperative that all of us follow all travel safety guidelines to ensure the decrease in the number of coronavirus cases. While out in public places, you must wear a mask and maintain at least 3 feet distance from each other.
