Jog Falls

Known as the Niagra Falls of India, Jog Falls is the second highest waterfall in the country. The waterfall cascades down from a height of 253 metres onto the rocks. Located on the Sharavati river in the Western Ghats, the surrounding view of the waterfall is lush green and scenic. This is one of the most famous waterfalls in Karnataka. Its beauty is magnified during the monsoons as the surrounding areas become even lusher with the heavy rainfall.

Abbey Falls

Located in one of the most popular hill stations Coorg, Abbey Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in Karnataka. Many small streams come together to form this magnificent waterfall which cascades down rocky slopes into a coffee plantation. You can drive down to the coffee plantation and then walk to the waterfall.

Kalhatti falls cascade down the Chandra Drona Hills in front of the Veerabhadreshwara temple. There is a mountain adjoining the waterfall which houses a variety of flora and fauna. Chunchi Falls

Located very close to Bangalore, the Chunchi waterfall is fed by the Arkavati river. The waterfall cascade from the height of 50 feet. Sathodi Falls

Located near Dandeli, the Sathodi Falls are called ‘mini Niagra’ by the locals residing there. The rectangular-shaped waterfall cascades down 50 feet forming a natural pool where you can swim. The waterfall is formed by several small streams converging together. It’s a great picnic spot for you and your loved ones because of the surrounding natural beauty.

Arasina Makki Falls

This one has to be one of the most stunning waterfalls in Karnataka. Arasina Makki falls is located inside Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary. To get there, you have to trek through the dense forests of the Kodachari Hills for 1-2 km. The waterfall cascades down 50 meters into a naturally formed pool.
