A few things you should definitely do when you come to Ahmedabad:
One of the top places to visit in Ahmedabad is the Auto World Car Museum. For all car enthusiasts, this is a must-see. The museum has the largest collection of cars and other automobiles in India. It consists of the finest example of high-end car brands like Bentley, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Maybach, Austin, Chrysler, Cadillacs and many more. The main reason for this being one of the top tourist places in Ahmedabad is that each of these cars is custom-made according to the specifications of the buyer.
One of the most adventurous places to visit in Ahmedabad is the Kankaria lake, which is located in the south-eastern section of Ahmedabad. It is the second largest lake in the city and is situated amid multiple tourist spots like the zoo and Kids City. Adventure sports like hot-air balloon ride, water-based rides and other such entertainment attractions are also in abundance at the lakefront. A walk around this place can be very peaceful and relaxing, as the sound of the gently flowing water feels like food for the soul.
The night market at the Law garden is paradise for shopaholics, as here, they can find a countess variety of handicrafts and traditional Gujarati outfits (Ghaghra Choli for women and dhoti-kurta for men). What makes this market one of the most exciting places to visit in Ahmedabad is the ambience! The energy in this area at night is phenomenal and you can pick up the prettiest things for very reasonable prices. Made by the locals, the fabrics are beautifully decorated with the brightest and most attractive colours and feature mirror work, animal motifs, dye works and rabari designs.
This well is one of the most-visited tourist places in Ahmedabad. Resting on 16 majestic carved stone pillars with the corners marked by shrines, are three entrances leading to the huge platform. Legend says that this well was built by the widowed wife of king Rana Veer Singh, the beautiful queen Rudabai. The kingdom was attacked by Muhammed Begada, the ruler of a neighbourhood kingdom. Rudabai agreed to the conqueror king’s marriage proposal, but under one condition: that he would complete the construction of the well that was started by her late husband. The king, stricken by the beauty of queen Rudabai, agreed to do so and completed the construction work in record time. After the completion of the construction, he reminded the queen of her promise to marry him. The queen, who had achieved her objective, then ended her life as a mark of devotion to her husband.
The Gujarat Science City, one of the most important places to visit in Ahmedabad is located on the Gandhinagar Highway. Located 11.5 km from the centre of Ahmedabad, many tourist buses take you there. The place is well-connected and has many modes of commute. It is aimed at all those who are interested in science and technology. The centre features several captivating attractions like the IMAX 3D theatre, energy park, life science park, musical fountains, and an amphitheatre.
What makes Vadla one of the best tourist places in Ahmedabad is its serenity. Nature lovers and birdwatchers would find this place blissful as the wetland serves as home to many migratory birds. The marshy wetland still remains relatively less known and undiscovered as compared to other bird sanctuaries, and is a hidden gem known mainly by the locals. The minimal interference of humans in the natural habitat of the birds makes for exceptional bird-watching options, which is why many tourists consider Vadla one of the top attractions and places to visit in Ahmedabad. This place hosts many migratory birds and offers a great opportunity for nature lovers to observe the behaviour of the birds from a safe distance.
