Anegundi Fort, located on the banks of the mighty Tungabhadra river, gets its name from the royal elephants of the Vijayanagara Kingdom that were bathed here. It is historically significant and finds reference in the Ramayana as well. Today it stands as a magnificent reminder of South India’s rich history.
