Mythology:
Legend holds that the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple was established by Divakara Muni, a sage, after a direct vision of Lord Vishnu. It is said that Vishnu appeared to the sage in the form of a child, who then miraculously transformed into an idol and instructed the sage to build a temple at that spot. The sage's first offering to the newly enshrined idol was raw mangoes in a coconut shell, a tradition that continues to this day, preserving this unique offering as a sacred ritual in the temple.
