Travellers can board a flight to Kochi/Cochin or Coimbatore Airport and then take a car ride to Cherai – this will take you an hour from Cochin and 4 hours from Coimbatore. You will also get regular trains to Cochin from major cities across India.

Cherai is a year-round destination, really. However, if you prefer things cool, try visiting between October and March as the beach will be moderate to chilly during this time. However, if you want to celebrate Kerala’s biggest festival – Onam, then you should try visiting in August-September. And, if you want to see the Pooram or the festival where the annual elephant procession is held, then you should be visiting in January-February.

You can do so much when in Cherai. Go on a heritage tour to Paliam Kovilakom, Chendamangalam Synagogue, Palliam Naluketu Museum, Jewish synagogue and Ambedkar Park. Don’t miss the 'dancing' fish tour at Mallipuram fish farm. Also, pay a visit to the Athirappilly Waterfalls and enjoy frolicking in the water. Of course, you can always enjoy leisurely strolls on the Cherai beachfront

If you’re in the mood for seafood, do walk into Meenkada and enjoy local favourites like Karimeen Polichatthu or Crab Masala Fry or Meen Peera. However, if Italian is your choice of cuisine, don’t miss dining at Aromi Di Italia, our Italian restaurant. And if you’re more into multi-cuisine buffet meals, then our restaurant Yavanpriya, will cater to all your needs.
