When a long weekend is coming up, we must get cracking to figure out the best way to make the most of the holidays. What’s better than a forest safari vacation? Spend your weekend embarking on not just any ordinary jungle safari but an expedition into the thick forests that inspired Rudyard Kipling’s classic, The Jungle Book! We bet that when you tell your kids that they are going to holiday “Mowgli-style”, you’re definitely going to hear squeals of delight! Head to the Club Mahindra Kanha resort to spot the Royal Bengal Tiger and enjoy a magical jungle vacation that’s straight out of a Disney movie!
Apart from the Royal Bengal Tiger, some of the other animals that are worth spotting here include the sloth bear, porcupine, hyena, jackal fox, jungle cat, python, black buck, pea fowl, hare, nilgai, and Chowsingha, among others. This is the perfect long weekend getaway where you can spend your days amidst the unending grassland, which is another striking feature of this park.
It’s a beautiful place for your children to relive the daring tales of Mowgli and his friends while you spend your time on exciting safaris and jungle trails. Apart from the safari, the Kanha Tiger Reserve also allows you to enjoy the beauty of the pristine River Surpan that flows through the central grounds of the park. The Kanha resort of Club Mahindra offers you the chance to indulge your wild side along with a range of in-resort activities that we will describe later in this article.
The best time to visit Kanha National Park is between the months of November and June. The park is closed from July to mid-October during the rainy months. During the winter months, it’s very common to see the barasingha hopping in the meadows!
Jabalpur is the closest city to the Kanha National Park. It is well-connected to Mumbai, New Delhi, and other major cities by air. Jabalpur is also conveniently connected by train to several northern, western, and central Indian cities, making it a good location to reach Kanha. From here, it’s a 165km drive to the national park.
The Club Mahindra Kanha Resort is only a few minutes’ drive away from the Kanha National Park. Even though it is located in the midst of nature, its 62 living spaces offer all the modern amenities that Club Mahindra has come to be known for. Additionally, you and your kids will be spoilt for choice when it comes to recreation because apart from safari activities, the Kanha resort also lets you indulge in nature trails, bird watching, village tours, and trekking here; making it one of the most family-friendly resorts in Kanha
