A trip to God’s own country can never go wrong because Kerala is the perfect place for some much-needed relaxation and rejuvenation. It is always good to unplug and take a break from the world, while you enjoy one on one time with nature. Kumarakom is the ideal location for such a trip because of its serene and peaceful location.
Kumarakom is a quaint town located on the shores of the biggest lake in the state, Lake Vembanad. The lake is also known for the abundance of marine biodiversity. Right on the waters of the lake is the Club Mahindra Kumarakom Resort. It is a stunning oasis of calm and peace. The property is spread over 18 acres and is easily accessible from the Kochi Airport. The property offers guests a unique living experience in the form of wooden cottages that reach into the lake and stand on stilts. Imagine waking up to the impeccable view of a pristine lake each morning.
Ashwini says that this is the ideal place to relax. Once inside the property, the beauty of Club Mahindra will leave you spellbound. The surroundings are serene and you can enjoy some one on one time with nature.
According to Satish Kulkarni, another member who visited during Vishu, the food quality at the in-house restaurant is excellent and top-notch. The chef made mouthwatering dishes which were presented well. In addition to the great food, the ambience and the friendly staff add to the experience. All this together truly depicts the standard in hospitality that Club Mahindra Resorts holds.
Yatin Rane's review was pleasant as well. He said that since the resort is located in the backwaters close to Vembanad Lake, you are left spell bound by serenity along with a unique and pleasant holiday experience. Additionally, throughout the trip the staff at the resort was prompt and helpful.
Dutta Dipanjan had a similar experience. She said that the resort is beautiful and the lake, nature and lagoons further personify the beauty. It’s always great to have friendly staff and the resort staff are friendly, courteous and ever ready to help.
The property doesn’t have just picturesque cottages, there are a ton of things to do and secluded spots to relax in. There is an outdoor swimming pool on the property. Right beside the swimming pool is the wonderful hotel spa. So if you are at the Kumarakom resort in Kerala for a relaxing trip, you should definitely try out the spa treatments that include Ayurvedic therapies and massages both. There is an indoor activity area and an outdoor play area for kids. There is a gym for the fitness enthusiasts overlooking the lush greenery. There are 28 rustic cottages on the property. Each studio style cottage has an AC, TV and mini fridge in each room, along with a coffee maker. A safety deposit box is also provided for the guests to use at their discretion. The wooden flooring is quite charming and the cottages themselves are spacious. The bathrooms have complimentary toiletries with hot and cold running water. Each cottage has magnificent French windows so guests wake up to a gorgeous view each morning. Each room in the cottage has a balcony or sit out that guests can use. The cottages have an old world charm that is enhanced by the various modern amenities afforded to guests.
There is an in-house restaurant called Nalukettu, completely furnished with wooden tables and chairs. The restaurant serves delicious local cuisine, so you must try that because in Kerala, do as the locals do, and eat as the locals eat. However, you can select any other cuisine from the extensive menu or request special food if you have dietary restrictions.
This is indeed the right location to choose for a vacation if you want to spend some time acclimatizing yourself with nature and its various offerings. Experience the full glory of Lake Vembanad as you start each morning at this resort with renewed energy. As for things to do around the resort, there are plenty of options. The first and foremost is to relax and enjoy the hospitality of the resort. You can visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary to get a glimpse of some rare migratory birds. The Aruvikkhuzi Waterfalls are also located within a short distance, so you can make a half-day trip here.
