Constructed in 1678, the Fateh Sagar Lake is one of the four lakes in the city. There are three islands in it, and the Aravalli Hills forms an unmatched scenic backdrop. One of the islands has been converted into a public park called Nehru Park, which is accessible by boat and is a favourite picnic spot. 

While the fountains and floating restaurant are the most prominent attractions, the park is also home to many varieties of birds, especially in winter. The Udaipur Solar Observatory is situated on one of the islands in the lake. 

If you want to inject a sense of adventure into your and get a bird’s-eye view of the city, take a ride on the ropeway that connects Deen Dayal Bagh and Doodh Talai to the Karni Mata Temple. If you plan this outing in the evening, you’ll be able to enjoy a spectacular view of the setting sun.

A two-hour drive from Udaipur is the magnificent Kumbhalgarh Fort. The birthplace of Maharana Pratap, this World Heritage Site is one of the most formidable forts in Rajasthan. At 36 km, the outer wall of this fort is second in length only to the Great Wall of China.
