Ooty The best time to visit Ooty is between the months of April and June as well as September and November.
Some places in Kerala (like Wayanad) are near Ooty and can be easily reached by road. If you plan to travel by road, then the month of September is the best time to visit Kerala and Ooty. The surrounding areas are lush, green, and picturesque due to the magic of the monsoons that have just gone by. Alternately, you may even fly to the Coimbatore International Airport that is 104km away from Ooty. Coimbatore also has the nearest railway station. From here you may either drive directly to Ooty or go to Mettupalayam and from there take the Nilgiri Mountain Train to Ooty.
