A Classic Apple Crumble Recipe for a Special Christmas Treat
Popularly known as Apple Crisp in the United States, Apple Crumble is a classic apple dessert that is usually made in the fall season. A traditional dessert, Apple Crumble is made of stewed apples and is topped with a crispy and crumbly crust. It is more like an inverted Apple pie that has similar flavours and textures.
You can try making this delicious, sweet treat at home this Christmas with this simple recipe by Chef Alex Dias, Executive Chef at Club Mahindra Varca resort in Goa. Serve it with a scoop of ice cream to enhance the flavours.
· Apple (200 gm)
· Sugar (150 gm)
· Cinnamon (5 gm)
· Butter (150 gm)
· Flour (100 gm)
· In a bowl, melt half of the butter and mix it with sugar. Keep it aside
· Dice the apples into small cubes, add them to the melted butter and sugar mixture with cinnamon, and mix all the ingredients well.
· Prepare the batter for the crumble base by mixing flour and sugar.
· In a separate pan, melt the remaining butter and add it slowly to the flour and sugar
· Cook the flour until it is cooked and forms lumps
· In a serving dish, spread the stewed apples evenly, sprinkle the crumble on top, and serve!
