Brownie is a dense chocolate based baked dessert. It is one of the most popular and loved desserts, and for a good reason. They are easy to make and delicious to eat. Brownies come in different forms, they may be fudgy or cakey, and they may or may not include nuts.
If you want to try a simple yet delicious dessert, you can make this easy-to-make dry fruit and chocolate brownie recipe by Chef Alex Dias, the Executive Chef at Club Mahindra resorts in Goa.
The first-known printed use of the word ‘brownie’ to describe a dessert appeared in 1896 in a Boston Cooking School cookbook written by Fannie Farmer. However, the original dish, which was called Farmer’s Brownie, did not contain chocolate. The chefs at the Palmer Hotel in Chicago who participated in the World Columbian Exposition were asked to create an all-new baked good recipe that could be easily picked up and eaten without a fork and thus came into existence the Brownie.
· Butter (250 gm)
· Eggs (5)
· Chocolate (250 gm)
· Mixed dry fruits (100 gm)
· Icing sugar (250 gm)
· Flour (125 gm)
· Baking powder (5 gm)
· Melt the butter and chocolate separately and combine them together
· Sieve the flour and mix it with the melted chocolate butter and icing sugar
· Gradually add the eggs one by one to make a smooth batter
· Add baking powder and mix the batter well
· Add dry fruits and pour the batter into a baking pan. Make sure to brush the pan with a generous amount of butter on all sides and bottom
· Place the batter in the oven and bake it at 180 Degrees Celsius for about 25-30 minutes
The first brownies were made by the chefs at Chicago’s Palmer Hotel in 1893. Since then, the sweet treat has gained immense popularity worldwide, and many chefs worldwide have created new recipes.
