The houses of Goa museum is a rare sight that is a collection of houses by reputed architect Gerarld Da Cunha and is the primes expression of Goan history. This museum is located in Porvorim which is a 1.5-hour long drive from the Club Mahindra Varca Beach Resort or the Emerald Palms Property in Salcete. You can always hire a car and head out for the day. The museum has a variety of interesting houses and a café that you can sit down and eat at once your tour is done. Take your children for a long drive and then head back to the resort for a sumptuous Goan meal.

• Fountainhas In Panjim

Another area that demands attention and is resplendent with vibrant colours, Portuguese styled houses, old villas and buildings projecting balconies painted in traditional tones of pale yellow, green, etc. is Fountainhas in Panjim. This is an area that your family will spend admiring and the walk done the narrow lanes inside Fountainhas is truly an enriching experience. Located a little further away from Porvorim, Panjim is a half an hour drive ahead. You can always plan a day trip and cover both locations in one day.
