And if you are a Club Mahindra member, you don’t have to seek them outside! There are a couple of resorts that stand apart and are curated to offer the members an experience of a lifetime! Here are the 5 resorts that we selected for you to pick from for your next vacation!
Snowcapped mountains surround this picturesque lake located in heart of Srinagar. It is lined by colourful houseboats, a tradition that is unique only to Kashmir, where you can live in these aesthetically designed boats on the lake. No experience in Srinagar is complete if you have not stayed in one of them. Club Mahindra offers a stay in these legendary houseboats, as you are pampered by the hospitality of the Kashmiri men and women. There are three rooms in a houseboat with a common balcony that opens into the lake. A living room and a dining room are shared by the people living in the boats. Wake up to the sun caressing the mountains, watch the shikaras filled with colourful flowers sailing to your doorstep, go on a sunset cruise and listen to the old romantic songs by the boatmen.
Club Mahindra Ashtamudi resort’s Floating cottages lull you to sleep. Stay in floating cottages in Ashtamudi Lake for a magnificent view from the window that opens up to the blue waters from every cottage. Watch the fishermen set up Chinese fishing nets and call out to each other. You can walk around in the small villages around the Ashtamudi resort or pamper yourself at the ayurvedic therapies at the spa. Refresh yourself with a cup of tea. Do some bird watching or try your hand at fishing.
If your definition of adventure includes a rendezvous with the Asiatic Lion in its only home in the wild, then Club Mahindra Gir resort is your best bet. Located on the outskirts of the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, this is definitely one of the best resorts in Gir. Spread over 4 acres of verdant land, dotted with 150 mango trees producing the delicious Kesar variety, Club Mahindra Gir resort has been thoughtfully designed around its natural surroundings to serve as an excellent getaway from the rush of city life.
If you are a nature lover or a photographer, Binsar wildlife sanctuary is an ideal place for wildlife photography. Rich wildlife and bird sightings are often recorded in this sanctuary that is home to numerous animals and about 200 species of birds. Every point is a view point in Binsar. However, to watch unparalleled views of the towering Himalayan peaks of Panchchuli and Nanda Devi in their glory, go up to Chaukori. If you want a bird’s eye view of the Greater Himalayas and the Kumaon Hills, hike up to Binsar Hill an altitude of 2,420 m. If you happen to be on the Binsar hill after sunset, you might even be able catch the glimpse of Almora town as it prepares for the night all lit up. It is quite natural that you’d want to get up close with the Himalayas because the Binsar Valley resort offers spectacular views that can tease the adventurer in you.
