1.   Edakkal Caves 

Edakkal Caves are two natural rock formations located 10 km from Sulthan Bathery. You can reach these caves by trekking up the Ambukuthi hills, with coffee plantations on the way. The cave walls of these prehistoric caves are famous for carvings depicting human figures in different styles.

Note that the caves are closed for tourists on Mondays. Also, the number of tourists is capped at 1920 visitors per day.

2.   Chembra Peak 

At an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level, Chembra Peak is one of the highest peaks in Wayanad. The natural heart-shaped lake on the top of the hill is a popular tourist spot. The peak is one of the major tourist attractions in Wayanad and is visible from most parts of the district.

3.  Ghati View Point

The Ghati Viewpoint provides a scenic bird's eye view of the majestic Western Ghat mountains with a glimpse of the Arabian Sea. One of the most popular tourist places in Wayanad, it is also the best place to enjoy a beautiful sunset. The place is near Lakkidi, which is famous for a 16 km long road stretch with nine hairpin curves.

 

4.   Pookot Lake 

The calm and serene Pookot Lake is located at Kunnathidavaka near Vythiri. Tourists regularly flock to the place for boating amidst the lush greenery all around.

6.   Banasura Sagar Dam

Located at the foothills of Banasura Hill, Banasura Sagar Dam is considered the largest earthen dam in India. The dam is popular among tourists for its serene natural surroundings on the backdrop of mountains. Besides, speed boating and paddle boating facilities are also available here.
