While there are numerous tourist attractions in Wayanad, the following are the seven most frequented places to visit in Wayanad that you can't miss.

Edakkal Caves are two natural rock formations located 10 km from Sulthan Bathery. You can reach these caves by trekking up the Ambukuthi hills, with coffee plantations on the way. The cave walls of these prehistoric caves are famous for carvings depicting human figures in different styles.
Note that the caves are closed for tourists on Mondays. Also, the number of tourists is capped at 1920 visitors per day.

At an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level, Chembra Peak is one of the highest peaks in Wayanad. The natural heart-shaped lake on the top of the hill is a popular tourist spot. The peak is one of the major tourist attractions in Wayanad and is visible from most parts of the district.

The Ghati Viewpoint provides a scenic bird's eye view of the majestic Western Ghat mountains with a glimpse of the Arabian Sea. One of the most popular tourist places in Wayanad, it is also the best place to enjoy a beautiful sunset. The place is near Lakkidi, which is famous for a 16 km long road stretch with nine hairpin curves.

The calm and serene Pookot Lake is located at Kunnathidavaka near Vythiri. Tourists regularly flock to the place for boating amidst the lush greenery all around.
