• Monsoon (July-September)
• Winter (October-March)

Jaipur weather in the summer months of April to June is extreme. It’s brutally hot. The average temperature during the summer months is about 43 °C and sometimes even goes up to 48 °C.
Sightseeing becomes close to impossible due to the heat and hot winds. For those who aren’t used to such weather, this probably isn’t the best time to visit Jaipur.
However, some tourists do visit the city during this time despite the weather to check out events such as Gangaur Festival, which is held to honour Goddess Gauri. Expect an abundance of merrymaking, folk dances, delicious feasts, loud singing, etc. During the Elephant Festival, animals are a huge part of celebrations in the city. Elephants are dressed up in all their grandeur and paraded through Jaipur.
Summer brings with it clear skies, which is a great time to ride a hot air balloon over the city. Not only will you have a clear view over vast distances, you also get a bird’s eye view of the Pink City and its various structures. This is also a good time for birdwatchers as they can spot local birds that return after the cold winter to their natural habitat.
If you plan to visit Jaipur in summer, make sure you keep cool, drink plenty of water, wear cotton clothes, take shelter in the shade whenever and wherever possible, and munch on cold street food/snacks/desserts. Do not forget sunglasses, a hat, and some good sunscreen.
Jaipur weather in the monsoon months of July to September remains pleasant. The temperature during this time hovers around the mid-30°C range.
Evening showers are common, especially in September. It gives tourists ample time to take in the local sights during the day. The best part of the rainy months is how the city explodes with colour – the trees are greener and the flowers are in full bloom. This makes it an ideal time to visit for those who love the rain and nature.
Also, since it’s not really a popular season among tourists, you are bound to get some decent deals and not be bothered by crowds.
During monsoon, the popular festival of Teej is celebrated. It celebrates the reunion of Shiva and Parvati, and is a time when the city bursts with life, witnessing much singing and dancing to folk tunes.
Monsoon is the perfect time to cycle through the city, especially early in the mornings. It’s neither too warm nor too cold, and you get to see a variety of flora en route. If you love the rains, you are bound to enjoy being in Jaipur and making the most of the season.
As the cool winds set it, the tourist season begins in Jaipur. Regarded as the best time to visit Jaipur and when Jaipur weather is at its best, winters last from October to March.
During the winter months, the weather is warm, dry, and sunny, with average temperatures of 5 °C to 30 °C. Days are balmy and it isn’t too hot or too cold; perfect weather for sightseeing. The temperature at night tends to drop to 5°C. You will need woollens and comfortable jackets to keep you warm.
During January and February, there are several festivals celebrated throughout the city, such as the Jaipur Literature Festival, Jaipur International Film Festival, Kite Festival, and the Jaipur Photo Festival. These events are very popular and attract a lot of dignitaries, enthusiasts, and tourists from all over the country.
Winter is also the best time to visit Jaipur for birdwatchers as migratory birds from across the world come and settle amid the greenery in Jaipur. With patience and being at the right spot, you will be able to take some great pictures.
Keep in mind that since this is the peak season and is popular as the best time to visit Jaipur, prices will be on the higher side and places will be crowded too. However, there’s nothing like getting around the city and visiting the attractions when the weather is just perfect.
However, when one considers the beauty of Rajasthan in its entirety and the charm of Jaipur, weather shouldn’t be the only lookout while deciding the best time to visit Jaipur. The city is a hub of traditional fairs, festivals, folk music festivals, and other events throughout the year that will be enriching experiences for visitors.
