Gurez Valley is a captivating and somewhat hidden destination located in the northern part of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is in close proximity to LOC.
The valley is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, featuring deep gorges, towering peaks, and vibrant meadows that are unlike any other in India. The pristine waters of the Kishanganga River add to its beauty. The local populace is primarily of Dard Shin ethnicity, known for their unique cultural heritage, distinct language (Shina), and traditional wooden architecture.
In recent years, there has been a significant move towards de-militarizing the area, which has opened Gurez up for tourism.


You can visit this place throughout the year, however, the best time to visit Gurez Valley is between April and September. The weather during this time is soothing and pleasant; the average temperature in April is about 15-20 degrees Celsius, which makes it an ideal condition to explore the place, clicking pictures and indulging in adventure activities.
