Sikkim - pristine land of east!
Bordered by Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal, Sikkim sits in northeast India, home to the third highest mountain in the world - Kangchenjunga (8,586 m). Sikkim offers the beauty of glaciers, alpine meadows and numerous varieties of wildflowers. A holiday here is dusted over with serenity and delight.
Double the choice, double the excitement. We give you a tempting choice of two picturesque resorts in Sikkim. Overlooking the majestic mountains of the Chola Range, Club Mahindra Royal Demazong Gangtok combines traditional Sikkimese hospitality with modern comforts. Designed in local architectural style, the resort provides mesmerizing views of mountains from every room. You can even enjoy a helicopter ride from Bagdogra airport to the resort and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the region.
Spread over 12 acres on the banks of river Rangeet, surrounded by towering mountains, Club Mahindra Baiguney is the perfect place to unwind. 3 kms away from Jorethang in West Sikkim, the resort is a 2-hour drive from Darjeeling, 120 kms from the Bagdogra Airport. The interiors of the resort are designed to mirror the local influence and emphasize the natural beauty of the surroundings. Both the resorts furnish cosy, comfortable rooms with state-of-the-art facilities. Our hospitable staff makes sure your stay with us is pleasant and memorable.
Best time to visit Sikkim
Sikkim feels great in every season, and hence can be visited any time of the year. Some tourists claim that the best time to visit Sikkim is from March to June, when the climate is warm and pleasant. However, Gangtok floods with tourists during winters due to its abundant snowfall. Depending on the type of traveller you are, you can plan your trip.
Savour Sikkimese specialities
Sikkimese cuisine is a delightful marriage between Indian, Nepalese and Tibetan flavours. Relish local delicacies like Gyakho, Thupka, Pakku, Chaangisa, Sishnu soup, Sel Roti and Kinema, expertly prepared by our resort’s master chefs. The adventurous foodies can savour the famous momos at the roadside stalls, along with sweet and spicy sauces.
Your Sikkim sightseeing schedule
There are plenty of tourist places in Sikkim waiting to be explored. When in Gangtok, visit the Ranka or Lingdum Monastery, one of the most beautiful monasteries in East Sikkim. The Enchey Monastery is one of the oldest, home to spirits of the Kanchendzonga and protective deities. When you set out for Sikkim sightseeing, visit Kalimpong, Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga falls, Pemayangtse Monastery, Namchi, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Nathu La, Rabdentse ruins, or take a city tour to Darjeeling. If you’re an animal lover, do stop by the Himalayan Zoological Park, where you can spot the Snow Leopard and adorable Red Panda.
