Air travel across northern and western India has come to a standstill amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Air Travel Disrupted amid India Pakistan

In a move reflecting heightened security concerns, the Government of India has issued airspace restrictions, prompting the temporary shutdown of more than a dozen airports and widespread flight cancellations.

According to an official notification, commercial operations at several key airports have been suspended until May 10. The affected airports include Pathankot, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bhuj, and Rajkot. These closures have led to significant disruptions in air traffic, with multiple airlines rerouting or canceling flights across the region.

Authorities are closely monitoring the evolving situation and have shared that additional adjustments may be made in the coming days. Travelers are strongly urged to confirm their flight status before departure, as further changes may occur at short notice.

In response to the disruptions, airlines have announced flexible travel options, including free rescheduling and full refunds for affected passengers. Notifications regarding further developments will be communicated as necessary.

The shutdown comes amid intensifying geopolitical uncertainty in the region, with officials emphasizing that public safety remains a top priority.
