Bhutan is celebrating a significant milestone in its tourism sector as it marks 50 years of welcoming visitors.
To commemorate this half-century of tourism, the country is hosting a special India roadshow from June 17 to June 21, 2024. This event aims to facilitate networking, collaboration, and business expansion for travel industry professionals.
Focusing on summer travel, the roadshow will span four major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. This event will target buyers from corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) luxury, and leisure segments, opening new avenues for partnership and growth across the four cities.
About 20 Bhutanese exhibitors, including tour operators, hotels, and airlines will take part in the roadshow, showcasing packages, special offers, and promotions. Each event will feature Bhutan's unique cultural elements and exciting lucky draws, with return flight tickets to Bhutan as prizes.
Bhutan's tourism industry began in earnest in 1974 when the country first opened its doors to foreign visitors and since then, it has maintained a high-value, low-impact tourism policy to preserve its environment and culture. This approach has garnered international acclaim and has been a pivotal factor in the country’s strategy to attract discerning travelers.
Bhutan has been one of the top destinations to travel among Indian travelers. As per recent reports, In May 2024 alone, 19,212 Indian travelers visited Bhutan, marking a 100 percent increase over April. The country’s rich heritage, captivating landscape, and spiritual offerings make it one of the most sought-after destinations to discover.
The schedule of the roadshow is June 17 -Delhi, June 18 - Ahmedabad, June 20 - Mumbai and June 21 Kolkata. This exclusive event has limited spaces, and participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
