In a bid to extend its tourism season beyond the famous spring tulip bloom, Kashmir has unveiled its first Chrysanthemum Garden, named Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood, at the Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden in Srinagar. The garden, inaugurated on October 25, spans over 100 kanals and showcases a vibrant palette of yellow, red, pink, and purple chrysanthemums.

Kashmir Inaugurates First Chrysanthemum Garden

The initiative, inspired by the massive success of the Tulip Garden—which drew more than 8.55 lakh visitors in spring 2025—aims to transform autumn into another season of floral splendour.

The Chrysanthemum Garden is expected to attract 2–3 million visitors this season and generate between Rs 500 – 700 crores in tourism revenue. Its opening also aligns with Kashmir’s third Autumn Flower Festival, adding a cultural and festive dimension to the valley’s tourism calendar.

Beyond its scenic appeal, the project is a strategic move to revive Kashmir’s tourism industry. With the launch of Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood, the government hopes to reaffirm Kashmir’s reputation as a year-round destination for nature lovers. As autumn paints the valley in gold, the new garden promises a burst of colour, fragrance, and renewed optimism for both visitors and the local tourism industry.
