A major infrastructure milestone promises to transform travel between Delhi and Jaipur.

The newly completed Greenfield Bandikui Spur, part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, will reduce travel time between the two cities to just three hours, offering a faster, smoother, and more environmentally conscious alternative to traditional routes.

The 66.91-km, four-lane highway has been constructed at a cost of ₹2,016 crore. The project has been described as “strategically significant,” citing its ability to provide direct, access-controlled connectivity between the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway and Jaipur.

Until now, commuters relied on the often-congested NH-48 and NH-21 routes, which stretched travel times to nearly 4 hours. The new link bypasses these traditional highways, reducing travel time to just 3 hours, while simultaneously decongesting existing roads.

Designed with modern safety and construction standards, the expressway has been carefully routed to avoid residential areas, minimizing environmental impact. The project not only cuts down on time, fuel, and vehicle emissions, but also aims to preserve local ecosystems, adding a green dimension to this high-speed corridor.

The new spur is expected to significantly boost economic activity in the region, thanks to improved logistics and easier connectivity between the national capital and Rajasthan’s Pink City. Travellers, tourists, and businesses alike stand to benefit from this efficient alternative route.

With the completion of the Bandikui Spur, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway continues to redefine long-distance travel in India. The seamless link to Jaipur marks a new chapter in regional connectivity, offering commuters speed, safety, and sustainability in a single package.
