Odisha is set to boost its adventure tourism offerings with a new initiative at Kanhakund, a scenic destination in the Sundargarh district.

Known for its pristine natural beauty, rocky landscapes, and gushing waters, Kanhakund is now being developed into an adventure tourism hub to attract thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike.

The Odisha Tourism Department, in collaboration with local authorities, has planned a range of adventure activities, including thrilling watersports and ropeway facilities. The development plan includes camping sites, eco-lodges, and nature trails, allowing tourists to enjoy a blend of adventure and relaxation in the lap of nature.

The project aims to promote eco-tourism while ensuring minimal environmental impact, preserving the rich biodiversity of the region.

Kanhakund, situated along the Brahmani River, is already a popular getaway for tourists seeking peace and natural beauty. With the introduction of adventure tourism, officials hope to enhance visitor experiences and put the destination on the state’s tourism map.

Security and safety measures will be a top priority, with trained guides, rescue teams, and proper infrastructure in place to ensure a seamless experience for visitors. The tourism department is also considering community participation, involving residents in hospitality and tourism-related services to boost the region’s economy.

Odisha has been actively promoting offbeat travel destinations, and Kanhakund is the latest in its efforts to establish itself as a top adventure tourism state. With its rugged terrain and scenic charm, Kanhakund is poised to become a must-visit spot for adventure enthusiasts and travelers looking for an immersive outdoor experience.
