PM Modi flagged off 10 New Vande Bharat Trains bringing the total count to more than 50 and expanding the network to cover 45 nationwide routes.

Marking a significant stride in India's railway modernization and connectivity efforts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains on 12th March 2024. The introduction of these Vande Bharat trains aligns with the government's vision of bolstering the country's railway infrastructure and enhancing intercity connectivity. Currently, Indian Railways operates 41 Vande Bharat Express services, connecting states through Broad Gauge electrified networks across 24 states and 256 districts. The flagging off of 10 New Vande Bharat Trains has brought the total count beyond 50, expanding the network to cover 45 nationwide routes.

The latest 10 Vande Bharat Express trains that have been flagged off will cover Lucknow-Dehradun, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central, New Jalpaiguri-Patna, Patna-Lucknow, Khajuraho-Delhi (Nizamuddin)Puri-Visakhapatnam, Kalaburagi–Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, Ranchi-Varanasi, Mysuru-Dr. MGR Central (Chennai), Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam routes, facilitating seamless travel for passengers. 

Each train is equipped with modern features such as ergonomic seating, onboard Wi-Fi, GPS-based passenger information systems, and improved safety mechanisms to ensure a comfortable and secure journey for commuters.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of these new trains in revolutionizing India's rail transport sector.
