The 37th Edition of the Surajkund Mela, the unique International craft festival held annually in Surajkund, Faridabad is in full swing drawing countless art lovers from across the globe. 

The vibrant and culturally rich Surajkund Mela kicked off with fervor on 2nd February 2024, drawing thousands of visitors eager to witness a celebration of India's diverse arts, crafts, and traditions. The annual fair, organized by the Haryana Tourism Department, is a cultural extravaganza that showcases the craftsmanship and cultural heritage of the country.

The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony presided over by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu featuring traditional performances, showcasing the myriad hues of Indian dance, music, and folk art. The theme for this year, “Cultural Tapestry of Gujarat," aims to bring into the spotlight the skilled artisans and craftsmen from Gujarat, the theme state.

With active participation from more than 20 countries in South Asia, Africa, and Europe, this event is steadily gaining popularity. Over, 250 stalls from across India and the Partner Nation are exhibiting a vast array of handicrafts, handlooms, and traditional artifacts. Visitors can explore the exquisite craftsmanship of India, from intricate textiles and handwoven carpets to pottery, woodwork, and metalware and can enjoy the fair daily from 10 AM to 7 PM. The mela will continue till 18th February.

The Mela also boasts a diverse culinary experience, with a dedicated food court offering regional delicacies from across the country. Traditional performances, including dance dramas, folk music, and street plays, add to the festive atmosphere, creating an immersive cultural experience for attendees.

Surajkund Mela has not only become a hub for cultural exchange but also serves as a platform for artisans to showcase their talents and generate livelihoods. The fair is a testament to India's rich culture, fostering unity in diversity.
