In a significant move to boost spiritual tourism, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has unveiled 10 new religious historical tour packages following the grand celebrations of Maha Kumbh.
The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has introduced 10 specially curated religious and historical tour packages post Maha Kumbh. These packages are designed to provide pilgrims and tourists with structured, convenient access to some of the most sacred and culturally significant destinations in the state.
The tours cover prominent pilgrimage hubs such as Prayagraj, Kashi (Varanasi), Vindhyachal, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya, and Maihar—each known for its deep mythological and religious roots. The packages range from single-day trips to multi-day itineraries, including: Prayag Darshan (1 day), Prayagraj-Varanasi (1 day), Prayagraj-Varanasi-Vindhyachal (2 days/1 night), Prayagraj-Vindhyachal-Varanasi-Ayodhya (3 days/2 nights), Prayagraj-Ayodhya (1 day), Prayagraj-Chitrakoot (1 day), Prayagraj-Maihar (1 day), Prayagraj-Bandhavgarh (2 days/1 night), Prayagraj-Panna-Khajuraho (3 days/2 nights), and a special Prayagraj Heritage Walk (weekend only).
The Prayag Darshan package includes key sites like Sangam, Akshayvat, Hanuman Temple Corridor, Anand Bhawan, CSA Park, Allahabad Museum, Khusro Bagh, and Shringverpur. Meanwhile, the weekend-only Prayagraj Heritage Walk offers a four-hour guided tour of historic landmarks such as All Saints Cathedral, Bharadwaj Ashram, Fort, and Khusro Bagh. This package includes a guide, entry fees, breakfast, bottled water, printed literature, and transportation.
Bookings are available both online and offline, with pick-up and drop facilities included. The initiative aims to spotlight the rich architectural and cultural legacy of the region. With improved infrastructure and connectivity, UPSTDC is positioning Uttar Pradesh as a leading destination for spiritual and heritage travel in India.
The Maha Kumbh, which drew millions of pilgrims from across the globe, provided a significant boost to the state’s tourism sector. Building on this momentum, UPSTDC hopes the new religious circuits will encourage year-round tourism and create livelihood opportunities for local communities.
