Much-anticipated Aqua Line Metro offering direct metro connectivity from Greater Noida to Delhi Airport and the Railway Station is set to become a reality.
Promising a significant boost to the region's transport infrastructure this project is a part of the larger expansion plans of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) aimed at enhancing the metro network's reach and efficiency.
As per recent reports, the project is estimated to cost INR 2,254 crore, featuring an 11.5 km corridor extending the Aqua Line from Sector 142 to the Botanical Garden station, simplifying connectivity to the Delhi Metro's Blue and Magenta lines.
In addition to the reports, the new Metro route will include stations at the Botanical Garden, Sector 44, Noida Authority Office in Sector 96, Sector 97, Sector 105, Sector 108, Sector 93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College. This direct connection is expected to cut travel time significantly for residents and office-goers traveling between these points, offering a hassle-free and efficient alternative to road transport, which is often plagued by heavy traffic and congestion.
Upon completion, the extension will significantly ease commuting between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi. It will offer direct connections to the Indira Gandhi International Airport via the Magenta Line and to the New Delhi Railway Station via the Blue Line. Additionally, inter-city buses to Greater Noida will be accessible from the Botanical Garden station.
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) awaits the Central Government’s approval of this project which is expected to take three years to begin following the final go-ahead.
