Uttar Pradesh all set to introduce Catamaran boats in Kashi (Varanasi), Ayodhya, and Mathura.

In a significant boost to Uttar Pradesh's tourism sector, the state government is set to launch catamaran boat excursions in the iconic cities of Kashi (Varanasi), Ayodhya, and Mathura. These three cities, renowned for their religious and cultural heritage, will soon offer visitors a unique way to explore their sacred rivers.

Catamaran boats, known for their stability and spacious design, will provide a comfortable and scenic experience for pilgrims and tourists alike. The initiative has been taken by the state with the help of the Inland Waterways Authority of India. By introducing these modern vessels, the state aims to attract both domestic and international visitors, offering them a serene and immersive journey along the scared rivers.

As per recent reports, the partnership between the state and Inland Waterways Authority of India entails delivery of six Catamaran boats offering tourists with a terrific sightseeing experience while cruising past the most popular spots of Uttar Pradesh. Reports add that Kashi (Varanasi), Ayodhya, and Mathura, these cities will get two Catamaran boats each.

At present, both Kashi (Varanasi) and Ayodhya have one Catamaran each with a seating capacity of 50 passengers. The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Corporation has laid down certain requirements for the catamarans to be used in the future.

The government is ensuring that the boats are equipped with state-of-the-art safety features and trained personnel to provide a smooth and enjoyable journey. Additionally, this initiative will create new employment opportunities for locals, further boosting the regional economy.

In addition to this recent development, the IWAI has recently delivered electric boats to Prayagraj. This includes two mini-cruise boats, with a capacity of 30 passengers, as well as six motorboats and two rescue boats. These vessels are expected to become operational after the monsoons.

Uttar Pradesh possesses a vast potential for water tourism and this recent move is expected to significantly elevate the tourism appeal of these sacred cities. Visitors would now be able to delight in a memorable, spiritual, and scenic experience in Uttar Pradesh with water excursions.
